Trepat

Trepat is a Spanish red grape variety that is grown primarily in the Conca de Barberà and Costers del Segre DO’s of Catalonia. The grape is likely indigenous to northeast Spain. In Catalonia, Trepat is mainly found in the blended rosé wines where it is often combined with other varieties. With moderately high alcohol, Trepat is well suited to malolactic fermentation, and results in a fresh wine with a long lasting finish.

Montserrat, the iconic mountain range that encircles Barcelona, towers over the Cava region of northeast Spain. The region is renown for producing wonderful white grape varietals such as Parellada, Macabeo and Xarel.lo, which when blended produce the finest Cava in Spain.
