Varietal: 100% Tempranillo. Vines are between 30-50 years old.
Terrain: Rich, fertile soils (high nutrients) with good water retention. High temperatures and extreemely low rainfall (less than 10 inches per year).
Harvest: Hand picked and selected twice: initially in the vineyard, with a second selection on receipt at the winery.
Ageing: Stainless steel.
Bottling: Bottled on the property.
Serving Temperature: It can be kept refrigerated, but should be served at room temperature, between 61º and 65º F.
Alcohol Content: 13.5%

Color: Deep garnet.
Nose: Plenty of fruit, aromatic but not overwhelming.
Palate: A perfect balance of fruit and acidity. Enjoy this wine with pizza, pasta, light meat dishes, chicken, or anything grilled on the barbecue. This is a most enjoyable and versatile wine that will last for many days after opening..

Winery: Labastida, Rioja Alavesa
Varietal: 100% Viura. Vines are between 40-80 years old.
Terrain: Labastida, in the Rioja Alavesa, can be found at the highest, most northern edge of Rioja, were climactic conditions are nearly ideal for wine production. The soil is a mixture of clay and limestone, and is made up of mostly southwest facing terraces. Average rainfall is slightly over 15 inches per year.
Harvest: Hand picked and selected twice: initially in the
vineyard, with a second selection on receipt at the winery.
Ageing: Stainless steel.
Bottling: Bottled on the property.
Serving Temperature: Between 41º and 55º F
Alcohol Content: 12%

Nose: Viura is characteristic for it’s lack of nose!
Palate: This wine will delight you with a perfect balance of acidity and fruit. A long, satisfying finish makes this wine ideal for pairing with fish, poultry, or cheese dishes. You could also try it with any egg-based recipe (think tortilla) or a salad.
